The Region Carnival will be held on Saturday and Sunday, 8th and 9th February 2020 at the Sydney Academy of Sport and Recreation
You have automatically qualified to compete if you came 1st to 6th in a final at Zone in December, and you are u8 or older.
You may have qualified as an extra to compete at Regions – this decision is based on your performance and based on the performance of the NE Met Zone athletes. The list of athletes who have qualified to attend the Region Carnival will be posted HERE They are listed by centre alphabetically. Please check this list to see if you are one of the Ryde athletes who has qualified to Regions, and to see whether you have qualified in more events than you expected!
The Region Carnival commences at 8am on both days and first marshalling will commence at 7.30am. Please click Here for the Region 5 2020 – Program (both days). Events can not start before these times, but may start later. Please look carefully at the program and be sure to arrive in plenty of time to find parking (can be up to 10 minutes walk to the track from the carpark) and to get your child to marshalling which occurs at least 20 minutes prior to the event.
We are required to fill a number of parent helper duties over the weekend. At this stage we are requesting just 1 parent helper per family.
Parent helpers are to check in at the Ryde tent 15 minutes before their scheduled timeslot. Please make sure you do not just go straight onto the field and tag team another parent. You need to sign in and collect your lanyard.
Parent helpers must wear closed-in shoes.
Parent helpers must remain until the event is completely finished – not leave when their own child is eliminated.
Helpers cannot change ‘shift’ during the course of an age group event.

As per zone, please ensure all athletes have correct uniform on (Coles patch, age number, rego number).
Spikes – only Omni-lite pyramid and Xmas tree spikes are permitted on the Narrabeen track. The club will again be purchasing these, so if anyone would like to buy some, we will be selling them at cost at Regionals. Please come see Jannet at the Ryde tent.
If any of these items are not in place, please fix it to avoid being sent away from marshalling at the Region Carnival.
